Process and method
After Ms. Shahrinaz announced this group assignment, I was in one group with my friend, Tennsen Chong for completing the group webpage product. At first, we typed all the codes which are given by lecturer in notepad and viewed the output. After that, we keep on changing our HTML codes until we obtained what we wish in our webpage.
Creating a blog
Prior to the creating of our webpage, we signed up an account on blogger.com in order to make a hyperlink on our webpage. Before this assignment, I have been opened a blog at the other website, but I seldom used it. Due to my last experience in opened a blog, this time it is not a problem for me, and I feel quite easy to create a blog in blogger.com, as it is quite convenient website for new blogger.
Technologies and tools
Basically, the tools that I learned and used during this assignment were notepad, Mozilla Firefox web browser, webs.com which is a free web hosting site and blogger.com which I use it as my report blog for this subject.
When we were searching html color code on Google, we found two useful html tutorial websites which were w3schools.com and echoecho.com. Both of these two websites provide a mass of knowledge about html codes and the clear tutorial of how to use those different codes. The advance knowledge that I gained from echoecho.com were strikes a line through the text, how to fill in background color or insert background image, how to use image as hyperlink, no underline on text link and change color on text link.
This two webpage was help us a lot when we are facing the problem in doing the HTML codes, the webpage have provided some useful tips for us. With the useful tips we are save much time in keep on trying and asking our friends.
Debugging html codes in getting the output
The first thing we do for this webpage is insert the HTML codes which we learned it when tutorial class in notepad. After that, we send our codes to hotmail to ensure our codes are displayable. Unluckily the first time we post the codes, our photo was not display on it and our words are very messy and not arrange well. Then we checked again with our codes, we was inserted some codes wrongly and we insert wrongly our photo source codes. We changed it, moreover we also try to insert column I our webpage. The second time we post our codes, we are successful. After finished all the basic things, we start to decorate our webpage add on some colour and changed the background. This assignment we used about 4 hours to finish it, because this is the first time, we create a webpage with using HTML codes.
Choosing web hosting server and uploading the file
Actually we have no much knowledge about web hosting server, especially free web server. As a result, we phoned our friend to ask them which free hosting server we are choosing, in the end we make the decision on choosing webs.com as our server. We have no problem with the upload process, as there are clearly buttons for us in the webpage, so we just follow the instruction well and our webpage was uploaded successfully after few minutes.
Conclusion
Before I attend the IT class, Internet information is absolutely blank for me, im just using computer for surfing and my assignment. Besides that, before this I thought Microsoft Front Pages in the only software can create webpage, now I know that we also can use HTML to do it.
At last, I found learning html coding is interesting and I wish I can learn more practical technique and knowledge from this subject. Besides that, this is the first time i create my own self webpage and also the first time I use blog to do my assignment. It is new and quite interesting to me, after this assignment maybe I will start update my blog always. Finally I want to thanks Miss Shahrinaz for taught us this useful knowledge which I can use it in the future.
